A Brief Overview of Gold Testing Labs in Tamilnadu

Tests for the presence of metal are required for most industries including food, pharma as well as research. Products are analyzed for trace metal and precious metal impurities. Testing is crucial to pharma products before launching to maintain quality and detect foreign materials. Multiple metals like arsenic, mercury, cadmium, lead, gold, and silver have been detected in drugs used for humans and animals.  The sources of these impurities might be from ingredients of the processes involved like catalysts or by-products of the process itself. Testing for gold and other metals is a prerequisite to a successfully launched product in the market. To test your product contact our NABL Testing labs in Chennai

Precious Metal Tests

Our NABL-accredited labs in Tamilnadu provide analysis options for various products ranging from nanotechnology samples, collagen samples, and ayurvedic products to animal house study samples. At our Gold testing Labs in Chennai, we offer precious metal testing by the fire assay method.

What is the Fire Assay Method?

Fire assay is a standard procedure used industrially to procure gold and platinum group element (PGE) concentrations from different samples. There are two types of fire assay tests.

Lead Collection Gold Fire Assay:

It is one of the precise techniques available for gold analysis which can accurately determine the content of platinum and palladium. Usually, this kind of assay is more suited to detect gold in almost all types of samples including rocks, drill cores, soil, and chip samples.

Nickel Sulfide Collection Fire Assay:

This kind of fire assay can best detect all the PGE six-element suites.

Our team of experts is accustomed to dealing with various kinds of samples in different shapes and sizes. We can help you choose which type of fire assay to choose depending on your sample type and sizes. We can also offer our clients multiple sizes of samples ranging between 15g, 30g, and 50g. We are determined to offer our customers competitive expertise in gold and other precious Metal testing in Chennai so that you get nothing but the best.

Steps of Fire Assay Method

The three major steps of the process are as follows:

Fusion:

  • The sample is ground and mixed with a fluxing along with lead. After about 20 minutes at 1000 degrees, the precious metal and lead separates to form a button.
  • Precious Metal Extraction: The precious metal is separated by cupellation to form a metal bead.

Detection:

  • Precious metals can be detected by various methods-
  • Flame Atomic Absorption (AA)
  • Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES)
  • Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)
  • Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA)

As one of the NABL (The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accredited labs in Chennai, we also offer analysis of 99.99% high pure gold for hallmark assays. As one of the best Gold testing Labs in Chennai, we provide our clients with reliable and quick precious metal tests for a seamless and easy product launching process. Top 10 Food Testing Methods for Safety and Quality Assurance

Food safety and quality assurance are crucial for ensuring that products are free from harmful substances and meet the required standards. Here are the top 10 food testing methods used in the industry: 1. Microbiological Testing Purpose: Detects harmful microorganisms like bacteria (e.g., Salmonella, E. coli), yeasts, molds, and pathogens. Method: Culture methods, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), or immunoassays to identify contamination and ensure food safety. 2. Allergen Testing Purpose: Identifies the presence of food allergens (e.g., peanuts, gluten, soy). Method: ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), PCR, and mass spectrometry are commonly used. 3. Chemical Contaminants Testing Purpose: Detects chemicals like pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals. Method: Techniques like Gas Chromatography (GC), Liquid Chromatography (LC), and ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) are used to ensure chemical safety levels. 4. Nutritional Analysis Purpose: Verifies ...

Parabens: These are preservatives used to extend the shelf life of products. However, they have been linked to hormone disruption, which can potentially lead to reproductive issues a...

What is the laboratory test for soap? What is the test method for soap?

There are several laboratory tests used to evaluate the quality and properties of soap. Some of the common tests include: 1. pH Test Purpose : To determine the acidity or alkalinity of the soap. Method : A small amount of soap is dissolved in distilled water, and the pH is measured using pH paper or a pH meter. The ideal pH for soap is usually between 9 and 10. 2. Total Fatty Matter (TFM) Purpose : To measure the percentage of fatty matter in the soap, which indicates its quality. Method : The soap is dissolved in alcohol, and the fatty matter is extracted using an organic solvent like petroleum ether. The solvent is then evaporated, and the residue is weighed to determine the TFM content. 3. Free Alkali Test Purpose : To measure the amount of free alkali present in the soap, which can cause skin irritation. Method : The soap is dissolved in ethanol, and the solution is titrated with hydrochloric acid using phenolphthalein as an indicator. 4. Moisture Content Purpose : To determine the...
